Piaget Altiplano Gold

The Altiplano collection from Piaget is being produced this year with an 18k gold bracelet for the first time. This ultra-thin timepiece is designed for both men and women.

The dial is extremely minimalist, with slim baton-style hour markers and slender hands. It contains the Piaget Caliber 534P automatic movement – hence the word “Automatic” on the dial.

It has a 42-hour power reserve, and is finished in a Côtes de Genève pattern. It is available in 34 mm and 38 mm sizes.

The BR 03 Rafale Chronograph is a tribute to a fighter aircraft, and is designed as a cockpit clock. The case is made of matte black ceramic, and the dial is a monochromatic camouflage grey, with orange-tipped chronograph seconds and minute hands. A tachymeter scale is printed on the flange – identified in orange type. The small seconds dial at 3 o’clock features a silhouette of the aircraft. The strap is natural black rubber. Hermès unveiled its stylish new “aesthetically pure” Slim Hermès collection at Baselworld 2015 and the ultra sleek, self-winding Perpetual Slim stood out as a potential future classic.

Created by Philippe Delhotal, Creative Director of La Montre Hermès, the Slim Hermès is available in three sizes: 32mm, 35mm and 39.5mm diameter. The 39.5mm model is available in rose gold or steel featuring a perpetual calendar mechanism, ultra-thin H1950 in-house movement, moon-phase in white mother-of-pearl, distinctive Hermès H symbols and 42 hour power reserve with a matt Havana or black alligator strap completing the look.

This updated version of the Oyster Perpetual Sea-Dweller was first launched in 1967 as the Sea-Dweller 2000 (water resistant to 2,000 feet). The new one is the Sea-Dweller 4000 (water resistant to 4,000 feet). It has a black Cerachrom bezel with PVD platinum markers, gold Chromalight hands and markers, blue Parachrom hairspring (in Caliber 3135) and a bracelet with Glidelock extension system and Oysterlock safety clasp. The Patek Philippe Annual Calendar Chronograph, Ref. 5960 was originally introduced in 2006 in a platinum case. There are few steel Patek Philippe watches and this model is therefore a collector’s piece. The movement, automatic Caliber CH 28-520 IRM QA 24H, is unchanged, but the dial has been refurbished and the bracelet, also steel, is new for the brand. The first day of the month is displayed in red and the rest in black. There is also a power reserve indicator and day/night indications.

Hermès Arceau Pocket Astrolabe

The Arceau Pocket Astrolabe features exquisite plique-à-jour enameling. The astrolabe, from the Greek meaning “star-taker,” is an instrument for measuring the height of the sun or a star above the horizon, in particular to determine the time. Formed from circular rings placed inside one another, it represents the movement of the stars as the ancient astronomers imagined it. The circles of the astrolabe appear in a palette of blue, turquoise and indigo, punctuated by touches of silver. It contains the mechanical self-winding Caliber H1928.
