In all the history of watchmaking, perhaps no name is more thoroughly synonymous with an almost mythic level of craftsmanship than the House of Buccellati. Their storied history as producers of some of the finest jewelry ever made, has given them a unique perspective on the process; a view of the wristwatch as jewelry itself. For four generations, the Buccellati studios have turned out masterpiece after masterpiece - each one a classic in its own time, and yet each one totally revolutionary and unexpected. Since their first foray into watchmaking in 2000, they have taken that field by storm with designs of startling creativity, classic beauty, and the finest caliber of craftsmanship. Their horological creations, the timelessly beautiful Eliochron, Eratochron, Audachron, Androchron, and Olympochron are nothing less than wonders of timeless elegance wrought in the finest precious metals available today.

Contardo Buccellati opened the first workshop associated with the family in Milan in 1750, and since that day the Buccellati name has been identified with master craftsmen of jewelry and the finest silver and gold smithing possible. In 1919, Mario Buccellati opened the shop which would begin the modern family tradition of the House of Buccellati in the vicinity of the La Scala in Milan. Establishing an identity as a master craftsman who used only the rarest and most precious stones from around the world to complement his pieces, Mario began the legacy which his descendants Gianmaria and Andrea Buccellati carry on today.

Their studio is a modern day Bottega, where young artisans and craftsman come to learn the ways of the masters by assisting in the creation of fine jewelry and watches.

It is this heritage of jewelry craftsmanship that sets Buccellati wristwatches apart from the rest of the field. Even a cursory glance at the case or dial from afar is sure to catch the eye of a casual observer. To those in the know, a Buccellati timepiece can be recognized at a great distance, though for the full effect one must carefully observe them at close range. Only then can the immense level of detail and craftsmanship be fully appreciated. The intricate, handworked cases and faces of these watches can have a hypnotic effect, and when you factor in the radiance of the rare precious stones present in some of the pieces they quite transfix.

This old-world, labor intensive process also means that each timepiece is unique. In addition the watches can be customized to personal specifications and desires. With the client’s collaboration, a Buccellati wristwatch can be a one-of- a-kind masterpiece, and the purchase not unlike an investment in art. Generation after generation, Buccellati pieces have maintained the highest level of prestige and respect in the best circles; to wear one is both a privilege and an honor that distinguishes one from the crowd. In a room of fine timepieces, a Buccellati is immediately recognizable, it’s style unmistakable and the work of craftsman on a level all their own.
